Q: Why is the IT event list in 24-hour time instead of 12-hour time?

A: This is a Google Calendar problem. See this link.

Apparently Google understands that

” this is a known request and [they’re] looking into ways of implementing this. wanderso is also correct in noting that you must be logged in to Google Calendar if you want to view an embedded calendar in your preferredtimeformat “

Q: Do you write all the content yourself?

A: Write? For the most part. Create? No.

Most of the content is created by our own IT community. All I have to do is listen. I just work hard to put it in a format that we can all use as a learning tool. I attend many of the IT community events. Due to event overlap, and the fact that my wife and kids want to see me every now and then, I can’t get to all of them. I will accept guest bloggers if they do a high-quality, detailed job reporting and conveying information.

To maintain the integrity of high-quality content I’ll be very picky about guest blogging content. I would rather not report than under-report. Of course, any guest blogger owns content they create and can freely post it on any other site they own or choose to post on. I am grateful that they’ve shared their content with the larger community in this central location.

Q: How do I contact Andy?

A: You can reach me at 513 225-1052 or aericksonatlucrumincdotcom.

Q: ^H – WTF?

A: Read this.

Q: Why does it look like my comments get posted in the middle of the night?

A: WordPress.com works on GMT which is something like 6 hours ahead of EST, the timezone where this blog takes place.

Q: How do you choose who gets mentioned?

A: Well, if you’re looking for a new opportunity and you’re working with me, you can rest assured you’re not going to be mentioned here, at least not without you explicitly asking me to mention you.  Other than that, if I meet you at one of the user events or if we spend some time networking you could appear here.  This space is really about the Cincinnati IT community.  As I meet people that are part of that community I want to make sure the rest of the community gets an introduction.
